One of the most common questions we get: "How long will this take?" Whether you're squeezing it in during a lunch break or waiting at home, here's the realistic timeline.

The Actual Installation: 30–60 Minutes

A professional windshield replacement typically takes 30 to 60 minutes of hands-on work. Here's what happens:

Minutes 1–10: We remove the old windshield. This involves cutting the urethane adhesive seal, carefully removing the glass, and cleaning the frame of old adhesive and debris.
Minutes 10–20: We prepare the frame — applying primer to ensure proper adhesion — and prep the new windshield.
Minutes 20–45: The new windshield is set in place with fresh urethane adhesive, aligned precisely, and secured. We check for proper fit and seal.
Minutes 45–60: Final cleanup, re-attaching any trim pieces, wipers, or rain sensors, and quality inspection.

The Cure Time: 1 Hour Minimum

After installation, the urethane adhesive needs time to cure — meaning it needs to set and harden to form a strong, watertight bond. We recommend waiting at least 1 hour before driving. In ideal conditions (warm, dry weather — which Houston has plenty of), modern adhesives reach safe drive-away strength within 60 minutes.

ADAS Calibration: Add 30–60 Minutes

If your vehicle has a forward-facing camera behind the windshield (common in 2018+ vehicles), ADAS calibration is needed after replacement. This recalibrates your lane departure warning, automatic emergency braking, and other camera-dependent features. This adds 30–60 minutes to the total time.
